Kranti Diwas
Kranti Diwas has great importance in Indian History as it is observed to remember the historic 'Quit India Movement'. The day is celebrated on 9th of August of every year. 9th of August, 1942 holds a remarkable significance in India’s history. The British had started to lose their command and authority over India and all over the world, and Indians were infuriated for being compulsorily forced in the World War 2 on the behalf of Britishers.
‘Kranti Diwas’, also known as ‘August Kranti Diwas’ marks the day when the ‘Quit India Movement’ began. Quit India Movement was the civil defiance movement which was carried out with diplomatic and peaceful protests and other acts like shutting down of businesses. This was done in order to force the British Government out of India.

Thus, in this way the Quit India Movement not instantly, but ultimately accelerated the Independence of India from British rule on 15th August 1947.
